The Santa Clarita Valley has wonderful hiking trails that are maintained by the City of Santa Clarita or Los Angeles County. Here are some of our favorite trails:
Griffith Park:
Griffith Park is a perfect morning/afternoon trip from SCV, as it is only 30 miles away! If you’re looking for a family friendly hike, Ferndell is my favorite trail at Griffith Park because of the beautiful forest-like oasis, easy parking, and it’s home to the yummy Trails Cafe. From Ferndell, you can take the West Observatory Trail where you’ll find a 2.1 round trip hike to Griffith Observatory with beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Hollywood Sign Hike:
This famous Los Angeles landmark is under an hour away from Santa Clarita, making it the perfect outing for you to feel like you’re in a Hollywood movie for the day!
Thankfully, the master plan for Santa Clarita includes a lot of open space and parks for the residents to enjoy. In fact, there are over 35 city maintained parks in Santa Clarita and several more that are county maintained in Stevenson Ranch and Castaic. Find your favorite park here »
