We recently hosted our annual Santa event at The Cube, the city of Santa Clarita’s ice skating rink. We had so much fun seeing our past clients and supporters take a spin around the decorated ice rink, enjoy the yummy pizza and holiday cookies, and visit with Santa. As I looked around and saw everyone having so much fun, it made me realize how many people don’t know what a beautiful facility The Cube is. So I thought it would be great to share my experience with you!
The Cube offers families an escape from everyday life with its pristine ice rinks and cozy environment. Beginner skaters can sign up for classes or rent skates to get familiar with the ice. Experienced skaters can practice their moves on the larger rink while taking laps around the entire rink or playing hockey. There are also lots of activities for non-skaters, like plenty of seating to watch the action or a yummy restaurant to enjoy a bite to eat.
The atmosphere at The Cube is truly special—not just for big events like our annual Santa party but throughout the year as well. They host hockey practices, clinics, and tournaments. In fact, the UCLA hockey team practices at The Cube! The city offers skating lessons through their Recreation Department (check the Seasons Magazine for current offerings), and there are figure skating lessons and events as well.
There are 3 different ice rinks, several different practice rooms, locker rooms, a restaurant called The Grill (formerly Maria’s Italian Deli in Newhall), party rooms, a shop, and lots of room for spectators to sit and watch. There are hockey leagues for all ages, freeskating times, skate rentals, skating lessons for all levels (provided through the LA Skating Academy), and a Parent/Tot program. It’s the perfect place to host parties and they even have live entertainment like The Grinch.
